next time, simply go to maps.google.co.za, click on ‘get directions’ and type in your begin and end point.

Hi, this is my first time on the site. I am realy interested in the technology you are using. I want to create a website using google maps, highlighting certaing features of South Africa.

The driving directions will be really useful for people in South Africa. I may have to use another web technology such as yellow pages?

THANKS guys! Great to find someone in-the-know cos GoogleSA office studiously ignores any questions!

Do you have ANY idea when driving directions will become available in SA? We got hybrid view, followed by detailed (very!) maps, then iPhone maps, and now we’ve even got very detailed street addresses. But none of this does much until we get the ability to plot a route between two addresses

Do you guys understand why routing doesn’t work yet street addresses are definitely programmed? Perhaps every piece of map needs to be coded as a network route for the routing algorithms to work?

Very excited about all of this!
